Summarize:According to the statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China sold 52,600 units buses and coaches (including bus chassis) in December, up by 43.7% month on month and down by 2% year on year. Showing clear signs of recovery, the bus sales in December was the highest among all monthly sales in 2022.
More specifically, China sold 9,741 units large-sized buses in December, up by 61% month on month, up by 17% year on year. In the same month, China sold 6,422 units medium-sized buses, up by 34% month on month and down by 4% year on year. China sold 36,500 units light buses, up by 39% month on month and down by 6% year on year. The percentages of buses with different power drivelines in December are shown in Table 1 below.

In 2022, China sold 407,800 units buses, down by 19% year on year (bus sales reached 504,900 units in 2021, 430,100 units in 2020, 444,000 units in 2019, 485,000 units in 2018). More specifically, the sales volume of large-sized buses reached 51,500 units, up by 7% year on year; the sales volume of medium-sized buses stood at 36,800 units, down by 19% year on year; the sales volume of light buses registered at 319,600 units, down by 22% year on year. The percentages of bus with different power drivelines in 2022 are shown in Table 2 below.
